Las obras exhibidas en Diderot.Art son cuidadosamente seleccionadas en el taller del artista. Son pinturas, esculturas, grabados, dibujos o fotografías que representan el proceso y el momento en el que se encuentra del artista, tienen relevancia dentro de su producción y en la vibrante escena artística local. 

En esta tarea me acompaña como asesora curatorial Pía Susaeta, con quien visitamos muestras, repasamos trayectorias y recorremos los talleres de los artistas. Estamos en constante descubrimiento de nuevos talentos con gran potencial que renuevan nuestra propuesta.

Buscamos obras que invitan a iniciarse en el coleccionismo de arte contemporáneo, con las que podamos tanto disfrutar y convivir. Seleccionamos algunos trabajos como incorporar arte en espacios o proyectos comerciales y también piezas que puedan ser un regalo significativo.

El grupo seleccionado por Diderot.Art está formado por artistas que se encuentran en distintos momentos de su carrera, pero coinciden en su compromiso con el arte y la producción de sus obras. Ellos representan distintas escuelas, estilos y disciplinas de la escena del arte contemporáneo uruguayo, esto nos permite ofrecer obras que se adaptan a todos los presupuestos.

Junto a Pía nos aseguramos que las obras que exhibimos cuenten con garantía de calidad y su correspondiente certificado de autenticidad y que el precio establecido por el artista refleje el valor de su obra, siendo el mismo precio que la obra tiene en su taller.

Personalmente hace mucho tiempo que pienso en la posibilidad de acompañar a los artistas en su crecimiento y desarrollo. En general a los artistas les cuesta la gestión de sus carreras profesionales y esto limita su acceso al mercado del arte. En Uruguay esto es más complejo aún, ya que el mercado de arte contemporáneo está en pleno desarrollo.

Diderot.Art responde al fenómeno de la era digital que se agudizó con la pandemia. El alcance de la web es infinito y la galería está abierta las veinticuatro horas, los siete días de la semana. Los clientes pueden navegar la web durante el tiempo que quieran, a la hora que quieran, desde cualquier lugar en el que estén, y conocer en profundidad la obra de muchos artistas talentosos.

A través de Diderot.Art siento que tengo la posibilidad de apoyar a los artistas, facilitándoles no sólo el acceso al mercado internacional, sino a los talleres, encuentros, residencias, ferias y concursos que los ayuden a crecer artísticamente. 

Sobre Pia Susaeta

Pía se dedica a la gestión cultural, especialmente en arte contemporáneo uruguayo. Trabajó muchos años como Directora de Cuentas de agencias de publicidad y medios de comunicación como El Observador, Postdata y Dossier. Fue docente en la Fundación Arte Contemporáneo, Fundación Itaú, Fundación Kavlin y de la Universidad Católica y asesoró a empresas privadas y públicas como el SODRE. Es mentora para acompañamiento de artistas de la Dirección Nacional de Cultura MEC. Desde 2019 co-dirige Zoco, Cultura y Arte Contemporáneo en Punta del Este.

Como historiadora del arte y gestora cultural, tuvo cargos de coordinación, desarrollo y dirección ejecutiva en instituciones culturales como Malba, Fundación Proa, Faena Arts Center y Amigos del Bellas Artes. Todas instituciones culturales nuevas o en un fuerte proceso de reestructuración y cambio. En 2020 se radica en Punta del Este donde se desempeñó como Directora Ejecutiva del MACA, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Atchugarry, desde su apertura, hasta marzo de este año, momento desde el cual está abocada al cien por ciento al lanzamiento y posicionamiento de Diderot.Art Uruguay
